Episode 251 "Chelsea: October in Review"

Nick is joined by Travis Flock to recap an up and down month that really encompassed what the Chelsea experience is like under Clearlake. The month started with a five star dismantling of Bournemouth with Jordan Henderson rolling back the years. That was followed by a gutsy win at bogey side Everton evoking memories of Chelsea from yesteryear. Had Chelsea turned a corner? Well we were brought back down to earth after a horrific evening at home to Spurs followed with the blues suffering only their second home defeat in 36 years at Stamford Bridge to Spurs as they were completely outplayed & big questions asked as to what Chelsea look like without Joao Pedro. An opportunity passed Chelsea by in the Carabao cup as they exited on penalties at Liverpool before some Morgan Rogers individual brilliance combined with Manchester United’s second half capitulation meant the month ended on a happier note. We bemoan more injuries, ask why has it taken Alonso so long to give Estevao a chance & look ahead to November. Episode 250 “Chelsea: September in Review”

We start with the news that Todd Boehly & Mark Walter sold their stakes to Clearlake Capital & what that means for Chelsea moving forward. Episode 246 “Chelsea: March in Review”

Nick is joined by Tom Coley (@tomcoley49) to look back at all things Chelsea in March what was a miserable month for the blues.  Simply put Chelsea are getting worse. In the Premier League there were three losses in four, with each defeat worse than the last & our Champions League qualification hopes only remain in tact due to the inaptitude of other clubs .  In the Champions League Chelsea were humbled by PSG 8-2 on aggregate in the round of 16 & we try unpack it. Was this the low point of the Clearlake era? Discontent on the pitch has led to discontent off the pitch as tension between fans & the hierarchy are at an all time high. There was a meeting between a fan group & a director that got heated & there is protest planned before the Manchester United game in April. We look back & ahead to that as well giving our feelings about the state of Chelsea & what it has become.  Finally we look ahead to April & ponder Rosenior’s position. Episode 244 “Chelsea: January in Review"

On New Year’s Day Enzo Maresca parted company with the club & we reflect on his time at the club as well as what his departure says about the higher ups running the club. After Callum McFarlane oversaw a draw at Manchester City & loss at Fulham, the Liam Rosenior era started with a 5-1 win away at Charlton in the FA Cup. We assess the start Rosenior has made to life at Chelsea.  With a top 8 place in the UCL league phase secured & three league wins in a row there’s been positive progress made by Rosenior & we highlight the performances of players who have impressed, been ok & also struggled. We wrap up by looking ahead to what February has in store. With a defecit to overturn in the league cup semi final second leg at Arsenal, a 4th round FA Cup tie at Hull City as well as three league games vs Wolves, Leeds & Burnley which will be vital in the race for Champions League football there’s no denying February is another huge month in the blues season.
