Wow. What a weekend for Somerset CCC. Vitality Blast 2025 champions, a second title in 3 seasons. Finals Day is always a lot of fun but when those 10pm fireworks are met by your team celebrating it is oh that bit more special. Charlie Taylor was in the stands on Saturday while Sean Dickson was out in the middle. Together they run through that 12 hours! Sam was stuck on a train. Boo. Learn more about your ad choices. Charlie and Sam are back to discuss the end to Somerset men's ODC campaign (SPOILER: they didn't win it). The chaps also look forward to the return of the women's competition with skipper Sophie Luff. Oh, and there is the small matter of a men's Blast QF date with Birmingham Bears (AKA Warwickshire) on Saturday. https://ciderpress.substack.com/ Learn more about your ad choices. Ok, ok, they are sorry. Very, very sorry. Charlie and Sam didn't anticipate a gap of nearly three months between shows but sometimes life gets in the way. Still, they are back now and the Blast group stages are done. They got together to review both the men's and women's campaigns, while also tapping into the mind of Mr William Smeed. Charlie and Sam are back for another season. No new logo (yet). No new theme music (yet). But a new format. It is a cricket podcast but only sort of as you know it. All this summer Charlie and Sam will be bringing you the stories around Somerset cricket. Yes, matters on the field will be covered. But we want to get to know the players, the personalities, the bits that may not otherwise be shouted about. Plus the hope is that we will have a little fun along the way. And we start with a bang - not one but two Somerset stars who also happen to play for England. Yes we have Jack Leach and Dani Gibson join the show. You're welcome. Learn more about your ad choices. A podcast covering all things Somerset cricket ... or at least as much of it as we can fit into our respective daily lives! The plan is that the show will evolve over time (a bit like Cider Press's written output). We want to perfect our forward defence before we turn to the ramp shot.
