Show notes
Chris “Cookie” Coleman joins us to talk about taking the Wales job after losing his mate Gary Speed, and the media coming for him from day one. He explains the two gambles that turned it around, taking the captaincy off Aaron Ramsey and switching to a back three, and how even a Euro 16 semi didn’t win some critics over.
He also opens up about the car crash at 32 that ended his career. He was trapped in his car for nearly two hours, and doctors were about to amputate his leg before a fireman got him out.
Plus Jimmy Bullard pushing Steve Kean into a lake and sticking £2k of golf gear on the gaffer’s hotel bill, why Bale was the best he played with, and us claiming we kept Alan Shearer quiet.
