It took a penalty shootout, but Manchester City squeaked past Brighton in the fourth round of the League Cup in the first of this week’s double-header. David Mooney is joined by City fan Sam Rosbottom and, from The City Ramble podcast, Joe Olivier to discuss the match.
They also look ahead to Saturday’s Premier League match with the seagulls and look at what elements might be different in the top flight compared to what happened on Wednesday night.
We discover all the previous times City have played a team in consecutive matches throughout the Premier League era, plus we discuss City best penalty shootout performances, the most embarrassing cup exits, and the greatest flukes the team has scored.
