Show notes
Gameweek 3 of the 26/27 Serie A campaign has officially given us our first managerial casualty, a five-goal thriller in the south, and a total identity crisis in Turin. Grab your espresso because we are breaking down every single angle.
The Ex Factor & Florence’s Fast-Track Panic: Fiorentina 1 - 2 Torino
The Sucking Sound of the Sack: Fabio Grosso’s time in Tuscany is already history after just three games, capped off by a 2-1 defeat to Torino sealed by an ex-player twisting the knife.
Enter Vanoli: The Viola hierarchy wasted no time bringing back Paolo Vanoli. Can his pragmatism actually fix a defense leaking goals for fun, or is this just rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic?
The Takeaway: Fiorentina look completely devoid of confidence, and Vanoli has an uphill battle to turn vibes into points immediately.
Blockbuster in the North: Inter 3 - 2 Napoli
The Thrill Ride: A five-goal heavyweight slugfest that ultimately went the way of the hosts, proving the San Siro hits different.
Depth Perception: Does Inter’s terrifying squad depth mean they can grind out these chaotic matches and go all the way? Signs point to a resounding yes.
The Allegri Factor: Can we formally start a petition to ban Max Allegri from technical areas for collective fan sanity? Watching his sides manage leads induces heavy drowsiness.
Late Show in the Capital: Roma's Comeback Win vs. Atalanta
The Drama: Roma left it desperately late, pulling off a stunning comeback against Gasperini's former side (or current sparring partners) to send the Olimpico into absolute raptures.
Scudetto Dreams: Grit, character, and late goals—is this the exact cocktail of dark arts and quality required to genuinely push for the title?
The Takeaway: Never count out a team that refuses to die in the 89th minute.
The Boredom Derby: Juventus 1 - 1 Milan
The Snooze Fest: A painfully dull 1-1 stalemate in Turin that left fans wondering when the actual football was going to start.
Identity Theft: Are both Juve and Milan still wandering around looking for their true footballing identity three weeks in? It sure looked like it.
The Takeaway: Neither side wanted to lose more than they wanted to win, and it showed in a toothless second half.
The Rest of the Map: Como Keeps Cooking, Genoa Concerns, & Bologna's New Toys
Como's Ascent: Another big win for Cesc Fabregas’ men. At what point do we stop calling them a fairytale and start treating them like a European threat?
Genoa's Wobble: Are Genoa's early-season struggles starting to look genuinely concerning? The alarm bells are getting louder in Liguria.
Frosinone & Bologna: Frosinone are officially the most entertaining chaotic neutral in the league, while Bologna might just have unlocked a lethal new striker partnership.
As the dust settles on Gameweek 3, our Serie A giants pack their bags for European duty. We preview what to expect from Italian clubs on the continent this midweek:
Can Inter translate their domestic firepower onto the European stage?
How will Allegri’s tactical blueprint hold up against elite continental pressing?
Can Roma and the rest of the Italian contingent assert early dominance in the league phase?
Tune in for the full tactical breakdown, hot takes, and match predictions!
